Meta launches ChatGPT rival
🚨 Our Report
At its first-ever developer conference, LamaCon, Meta launched the Meta AI app: A stand-alone AI assistant app that generates images, answers queries, remembers specific details, and even has a voice mode, making it a direct rival to OpenAI’s ChatGPT. It’s built on the latest Llama 4 model and is being pitched as “a hyper-personalized assistant for users already living inside the Meta ecosystem: WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook.”
🔓 Key Points
Meta insists that its AI app is more personalized than other AI assistants because it uses data that Facebook and Instagram users have chosen to share, “such as your profile and the content you engage with.”
It also has a “Discover” feed, which displays what users have generated using the app—such as avatars or emojis (if they choose to)—which is designed to “demystify AI” and show “people what they can do with it.”
The app also has an advanced voice mode feature (similar to ChatGPT’s), which allows users to interact with it conversationally, although it can’t currently access information from the web.
🔐 Relevance
Meta’s ‘Discover’ feed is an obvious feature to include for the social media giant, and although it’s beaten OpenAI to the table, there are ongoing rumors that OpenAI is working on a social feed for ChatGPT.
The #1 AI Headshot Generator
Apple just secretly added Starlink satellite support to iPhones through iOS 18.3.
Start the year strong with a stunning headshot that will improve your personal brand and help you land more job opportunities and clients.
Don't waste hundreds of $$$ on an in-person photoshoot. Just upload six photos of yourself to get 100 incredible headshots.
Backed by top investors, Aragon's proprietary AI models generate the most realistic headshots on the market.
In fact, in a study done with 1,087 recruiters, 76.5% preferred Aragon.ai's headshots to people's existing photos!
Have employees? Headshots also make the ideal gift for Employee Appreciation Month!
"I loved all the headshots so much I couldn't decide which I liked best LOL! I tried other AI programs for headshots, and they didn't come out as well. Highly recommend if you are on the fence." - Alex Dunstan, USA
"These AI-generated headshot photos are gorgeous! I’m blown away by this technology! Way cheaper and easier than hiring a photographer! Just do it…you will not regret it." - Joanna W, USA

🚨 Our Report
OpenAI has rolled back the last update it made to its latest model, GPT-4o (which was designed to make the model “more intuitive and effective”) after receiving a backlog of complaints about ChatGPT being “overly agreeable” and displaying insincere sycophantic behaviour.
🔓 Key Points
Over the weekend, users were posting screenshots on social media of ChatGPT seemingly agreeing with problematic, dangerous decisions and ideas, such as agreeing to save a toaster over a herd of cows.
In a postmortem, CEO Sam Altman confirmed that the update was “informed by short-term feedback” that didn’t “account for the change in user interactions over time,” resulting in disingenuously supportive responses.
He confirmed the team was “working on fixes,” including refining its training techniques and system prompts (which guide the models' behaviour) and adding new guardrails to steer it away from sycophancy.
🔐 Relevance
This just highlights the potential danger of AI chatbots, which are overly agreeable, as they could validate delusional thoughts and exacerbate the mental health crisis.

In another announcement made at Meta’s LlamaCon, CEO Mark Zuckerberg revealed that he wants around “half the development to be done by AI as opposed to people” by 2026.
Zuckerberg dropped this bombshell during an interview with Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, who established that around 20 to 30% of its code and some projects are all written by AI software.
He also predicted, during the interview with Nadella, that "every engineer is effectively gonna end up being more of like a tech lead," where they have "their own little army of agents that they work with."
